That didn’t take long

Posted by keithosaunders on May 10, 2018

For the past several months social media has been rife with snark.  Facebook and the Twitterati have turned the decibel level up to 10, gloating over Donald Trump’s poor approval ratings and the inevitable Blue sweep of the Congress in the November midterms.  So why was I not surprised when CNN released a poll yesterday saying the the midterm races were in a dead heat?

Puke-faced millennial social media mavens can talk trash until carpal tunnel sets in, but that’s not going to change the fact that we live in an uneducated, racist society that could care less that a narcissistic dullard is president.  Throw in the fact that the Republicans that *are* educated are making so much money off of this administration that they, too, are happy to turn a blind eye.

Folks, the fix was in long before Trump became president. Between gerrymandering, the gradual dumbing down of our nation through massive education cuts, and a gluttonous one percent, we have long been a lost cause.  Time to batten down the hatches — we’re in for a rough ride.

The clown car has arrived

Posted by keithosaunders on July 21, 2016

The Republican convention, which will conclude tonight with a speech by the potential OOTUS (Orangutan of the United States) has not disappointed.  Outside Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena you have cops and media outnumbering protesters by an impressive margin, but inside the Arena is where the real crazy people are.

On Monday night Melania Trump gave a speech and we awoke Tuesday morning to the news that large chunks of it had been plagiarized from Michelle Obama’s 2008 convention speech.  The media erupted in a swarm of indignation and outrage, but can I say something?  Who cares!  So she pilfered a few lines from the first lady.  Here’s a news flash:  It’s not a rare thing for potential first ladies to speak about family values or their husbands leadership ability.

What irks me the most about this [non] scandal is you can just picture some smarmy millennial on his iphone googling away until he uncovered the ‘scandal of the century.’  I guaranteed you this kind of thing has happened before but nobody cared.

Now we all owe a debt of gratitude to Lyin’ Ted Cruz for making our Wednesday night entertainment-packed.  Cruz’s speech, in which he failed to endorse Donald Trump, while delivering the opening salvo of his 2020 campaign, was like the high school kid getting his revenge on the school bully.  My hat is off to him.  He provided the image of the convention:  The Trump family standing in shocked disbelief, frowning and scowling.

I can’t wait for tonight.

Now playing in Congress: Dog and pony show.

Posted by keithosaunders on January 7, 2011

You can’t make this stuff up.  The new Republican congress is dedicated to slashing spending, thereby making it impossible for the sick to receive health care and the unemployed to receive relief.  Before they got down to the business of spreading hopelessness to the unemployed there was a show to put on — a reading of the U.S. constitution.

This would have been corny in high school but the fact that elected officials — grown men and women who are ostensibly working — have to waste our time in an Orwellian act of patriotism is mind-boggling to put it mildly.  I’m hoping they’ll go over weights and measures tomorrow.  I’m a little rusty in that department.

During the reading of the section that states that the president must be a U.S. citizen, some nimrod in the gallery yelled out, “Except for Obama!”  Yes, that old chestnut.

I love how there is a name for these kind of people:  Birthers.  It’s like a cult.  No matter how much evidence is presented to the contrary birthers swear that Obama is not a citizen.  Isn’t it amazing how easily the country was taken over by an Arab communist?  Seriously, I am thankful that I was not born a birther.  Imagine the fear that permeates these cretin’s existence.  It has to be exhausting.

CNN, that hard-hitting news station, dug deep and came up with a constitutional activist — Janine Turner.    What a surprise — a blond pundit!   She looked like Howdy Doody on acid.  Turner carefully explained that she was not a birther, but that she had grave concerns about where Obama’s birth certificate was.  Turner defended the congressional heckler by saying it was a symbolic act.  I would agree — it symbolizes the systematic dumbing down of our population.
